To be allowed to attend prom you must meet the following criteria:
- Have a 2.0 or higher GPA
- Have all school fines paid (books, athletics, etc.)
- Have NO days of OSS for the 2nd semester (and must meet county requirements for exclusion based on cumulative OSS days)
- Be a senior (or be going with a senior)
- Guests: Must be UNDER the age of 21 on the day of the dance, be in good standing with school / employer and submit a completed guest form prior to the day of the dance. Must also abide by all Wicomico High School & Wicomico County BOE codes of conduct.
NOTE: By purchasing a prom ticket you are in agreement with Wicomico High School’s Code of Conduct and that it will be in effect at all times. Students who choose to bring an outside guest are responsible for registering the guest by the designated deadlines. The guest must enter the prom with the Wi-Hi student. The Wi-Hi student who brings a guest is responsible for properly informing and clarifying the Wicomico High School Code of Conduct (Dress code will be checked at the door). Middle school students and students age 21 or over are not permitted to attend. If students/guests do not meet the standards listed below, you will be asked to leave without a refund. Under no circumstances are alcoholic beverages or drugs to be consumed before, brought to, or at the prom.

Non-WiHi Guests
Guests must be under the age of 21. They must have a form filled out and returned to Mrs. Melvin in the main office or they will not be permitted into the dance. See Mrs. Melvin or an SGA Advisor for more details.
Dress Code:
Boys: |
Formal prom attire is classified as a tuxedo, including a tie, bow tie, ascot, a shirt, or priest-collar shirt, and may include a vest or cummerbund. Tennis shoes, athletic shoes, sandals, flip-flops, and boots/work boots are unacceptable. Boys must wear dress shoes (they can be rented from the tuxedo store if needed). If student or guest does not meet these standards, you will not be admitted and receive a refund.

Girls: |
Traditionally formal dresses or gowns may be strapless or may feature spaghetti straps. Bare or open backs are acceptable as long as they DO NOT exceed the waistline. Bare stomachs or midriffs including open sides are not permitted. Under garments should not be visible. See-through apparel and gowns or dresses with slits that exceed the mid-thigh area ARE NOT PERMITTED. Garments that are extremely low-cut or have open sides are also unacceptable. Dress shoes or dress sandals are to be worn at ALL TIMES. Flip-flops and Light-up dress shoes ARE NOT PERMITTED. If student or guest does not meet these standards, you will not be admitted and you will not receive a refund.
